State approves La Pine land-use plan, UGB

KTVZ

The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development acknowledged the city of La Pine’s Comprehensive Plan and Urban Growth Boundary on Thursday.

This milestone enables La Pine to exercise local control of city land use issues (zoning, land use, code enforcement capabilities, and more), and to self-govern.

“Achieving self-governance is why La Pine residents wanted to incorporate to begin with. It is a very exciting day for us that took six years in the making,” said La Pine City Manager Steve Hasson.

“Deschutes County extends our congratulations to the city of La Pine, La Pine residents, Planning Commission and elected officials. We look forward to working together on land use projects now and in the future,” said county Commissioner Tony DeBone.
