KTVZ

The Shared Future Coalition invites the public to vote for their favorite video from the “Success Not Wasted” video contest.

Videos can be viewed either by clicking on the “Vote For Your Favorite Video” tab on the Coalition Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sharedfuturecoalition , or by going to the direct voting link: https://woobox.com/q57ms8.

Voting closes on Wednesday, February 12 th at 9:00 a.m.

Young adult residents (ages 18-25), of Deschutes County, were asked to submit a short video showing what makes them tick, and to explain why they don’t engage in underage or binge drinking. Video submissions which met the criteria of being positive, creative and inspiring are posted to Facebook for public voting. Facebook video votes will be combined with the votes of the Shared Future Coalition board members to select a grand prize winner.

The top-five videos will be shown at Winterfest Rail Jam the weekend of Friday, February 14. Young producers of those videos will receive a variety of prizes donated by local businesses, the grand prize winner will receive an Apple iPad!

The Shared Future Coalition’s mission is to engage the community to foster legal and safe alcohol use in Deschutes County.

The “Success Not Wasted” video contest contributes to that mission by engaging young adults to create video messages which inspire their young adult peers to choose success over getting “wasted” on alcohol.

This is the first year the contest has been offered. Goals for the project included engaging the local community in support of the contest, increasing outreach to Deschutes County young adults, and increasing the visibility of the Shared Future Coalition among all County residents.
