KTVZ

One driver sustained minor injuries in the crash of a minivan and pickup truck on South Canal Boulevard south of Redmond Sunday evening, Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies said.

Sgt. William Bailey said deputies were dispatched around 6:10 p.m. to the crash at the intersection of South Canal Boulevard and Southwest 61 st Street, Sgt. William Bailey said.

An investigation determined Linda Lucero, 67, was driving a 1999 Toyota Sienna heading west on 61 st Street. Bailey said she tried to cross Canal Boulevard and pulled out into the path of a southbound 1992 Toyota pickup driven by Francis Erhart, 33, also of Redmond, Bailey said.

The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles and they were towed from the scene.

Redmond Fire Department medics took Erhart to St. Charles Redmond for evaluation of minor injuries.

No citations have been issued at this time, Bailey said, adding that speed and/or alcohol were determined not to be contributing factors in the crash. The road was partially blocked and traffic affected for about an hour.
