Redmond Starlight Parade winners announced

KTVZ

The Redmond Chamber of Commerce & CVB released the winning entries of this year’s Starlight Christmas Parade, presented by St. Charles Redmond , which drew thousands of spectators to downtown Redmond Saturday night for the hour-long holiday celebration.

Of the 50+ entries this year, awards were given within five categories of entries: children, commercial, mounted, and organization. This year’s theme upon which entries were judged was “We Need a Little Christmas.”

According to Redmond Chamber of Commerce Events Director Karen Sande, the quality of Saturday’s entries made selections difficult for this year’s judges.

“As they seem to do each year, entries from all categories upped the ante in 2015, offering up their own interpretations of our theme in thoughtful, creative and clever ways,” Sande said. “Our judges certainly had their work cut out for them this year, but I feel they made some great selections.”

The winning 2015 Redmond Starlight Parade entries were:

Children:
1st place –
Desert Sky Montessori Charter
2nd place – Boys & Girls Club of Redmond
3rd place – Job’s Daughters, Bethel #11 of Central Oregon

Commercial:
1st place –
Cinder Rock Veterinary Clinic and Taylor N.W.
2nd place – Legacy Realty
3rd place – McFarlane Excavation, LLC

Mounted:
1st place –
Georgia Martin

Organization:

1st place – Hokulea Ohana
2nd place – McKenzie Cascade Excavation and Girl Scouts of Redmond Service Unit 68
3rd place – Redmond Assembly of God

The Redmond Starlight Parade is coordinated each year by the Redmond Chamber of Commerce, which works with a number of organizations to ensure safety and cleanliness before, during and after the parade.

“We’d like to offer a special thanks to the Redmond Public Works for maintaining the snowy roadway, and to our Redmond Police Department for the extra support and help in keeping everyone safe,” Sande said.
