Bend firefighters douse blaze behind Brother Jon’s

KTVZ

Bend firefighters extinguished a fire that tore through a storage shed and several Dumpsters behind a northwest Bend restaurant early Monday morning, keeping the flames from reaching the structure. They later said the cause of the fire was undetermined.

Fire crews responded shortly before 5 a.m. to the reported structure fire behind Brother Jon’s Public House at 1227 Northwest Galveston Avenue, said Bend Fire Inspector Steve Stenkamp. They arrived to find the storage shed and several Dumpsters ablaze.

Crews were able to knock down the fire in minutes, Stenkamp said, and kept the blaze from reaching the restaurant. The building did sustain some minor heat damage on the exterior portion, he said, but the shed and its contents were a total loss, estimated at $2,000.
