Three Sisters Historical Society

SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- At the Sisters Fire Hall, the Three Sisters Historical Society is hosting a talk on an interesting piece of High Desert history as part of its Fireside Series Sunday afternoon.

In this session, Mike Berry will be discussing the dam fiasco at Bull Flat, and the history of the 1914 Tumalo Project.

Berry plans to recount "stories of early land swindlers, angry land owners with no water, and hopeless lawsuits (that) all lead to the follies of the State of Oregon’s attempt to step in and help."

Doors open at 1 p.m. at the hall, with the session starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door, but it's free to TSHS members.

Kelsey McGee will be on hand to learn more about this colorful chapter in the area's history. Her report will be on NewsChannel 21 at Six.
