BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- At Discovery West's new Discovery Corner in northwest Bend, "The Launch," a space-themed grand opening of the gathering spot began with a drone show Friday night and continued Saturday with live music, food trucks, open house tours and a chance to meet former NASA astronaut Dr. Ellen Ochoa.

Attendees also were able to get a signed book from her, as well as hear about her adventures in space.

Kelsey McGee was on hand to speak with those at the event. Her report will be on NewsChannel 21 at Eleven. (Sports are pre-empting our 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts.)
