Lawmaker explains his bill to split OSU-Cascades from OSU
State Rep. Paul Evans, D-Monmouth has sponsored a bill that would make OSU-Cascades an independent public school called 'Central Oregon University -- a move opposed by the school and area lawmakers. He told NewsChannel 21 Friday why he considers it unfair that OSU-Cascades has the benefits of a small school, but can also rely on the strengths of a major university.

life is not fair
Just as I figured – he’s jealous that the school in Monmouth doesn’t have the same status.
As an OSU-Cascades student, let me attest that we do not receive the same resources or funding per student compared to all the other four year Universities. The connection to OSU’s name and research funding is our only advantage, which strengthens Central Oregon.
