Widespread rain expected Wednesday, mountain snow continues

Wednesday is going to be a cloudy and dreary day with the chance for off and on rain showers.  The temperatures at lower elevations will be in the 50s allowing for the precipitation to remain liquid (rain).  There will be a few inches of snow likely above the 5000-foot mark during the day.

Overnight, when temps drop into the 30, there will be a chance for a wintry mix to linger into Thursday morning most locations.  There will be little to no accumulating snow below 4000 feet, but the roads will be slick late Wednesday through Thursday morning.

Moving toward the weekend I expect to see dry and milder weather.  A mix of clouds and sunshine Friday is likely with a stray shower not off the table. The chance for the shower is very low so I am keeping it out of the forecast graphics.

Saturday will be the beginning of an above normal stretch of weather as the mercury in the thermometer reaches the middle 50s.  This warming trend will continue through the end of the weekend and the beginning of next week.  Highs on Monday and Tuesday will be in the low to middle 60s.

Spring skiing is looking good as the Cascades are going to get new snow each of the next few days.
