Heat wave through the weekend

KTVZ

Good morning and happy Friday! I hope you had a nice Fourth of July holiday.

We’re expected to reach the upper 90s to low 100s in Central Oregon today and repeat each afternoon through at least Thursday.

A Heat Advisory has been issued for portions of Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson counties for noon today until Thursday night. This will be one of the longest stretches of hot weather in some time so make sure you’re prepared.

We have also been issued a Fire Weather Watch starting Saturday afternoon. We are expecting locally breezy winds and critically low relative humidities across Central Oregon.

If you plan to spend more time outside today, make sure to drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks in the shade.

Stay safe out there!
