Hottest day of the week

Good Tuesday morning!

Temperatures are reaching their peak today as we remain under multiple heat alerts (Excessive Heat Warnings, Heat Advisories). It will be dangerously hot in areas including Bend and Redmond heading above 105°. Wherever you go in Central Oregon today, prepare for very hot temperatures!

A major concern today is our fire weather behavior. We are under a Fire Weather Warning until late Wednesday. High temperatures, low humidity, and a light breeze could result in rapid fire growth if a fire starts.

We’ll get some relief overnight as temperatures drop into the 50s and 60s.

As we move through the week, the heat will persist! Expect temperatures to stay well above our average in the low 80s for several days.

Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. Limit alcohol and caffeine intake as they can be dehydrating! If you need to be outside, apply sunscreen and take regular breaks in shaded areas or in the AC.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
