Dry and mild pattern heading into the weekend

KTVZ

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – The skies have cleared and the sunshine is helping drive the mercury in the thermometer into the 60s this afternoon. The general flow of air will be coming in off the Cascades this afternoon then a shift to a northerly flow will begin late in the day.  The clear skies and light winds will allow the temperature readings to hit the upper 20s and low 30s overnight.

Friday will be slightly cooler as the northern winds take over and highs only reach the upper 50s. Expect to see mostly clear skies again tomorrow as there is not much moisture available at this time.  A weak cold front is going to slide in from the northeast, which will help with the cooling process.

Saturday is looking pleasant, if you like partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 50s.  A similar day to Friday as the frontal passage will place us in the cooler than normal pocket of air.

Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy and highs will remain in the upper 50s with a few low 60s sprinkled in across the high desert. There may be some pockets of light rain and drizzle, but nothing widespread is anticipated. The rain, or lack thereof, will be generated mainly south of Oregon, but some showers may make it this far north, but only a 10% probability of precipitation, so basically it is only worth a mention in the forecast.

Monday will also be on the partly to mostly cloudy side as the showers in northern California and Nevada stay south of the Tri-Counties. We do begin a slight warm up as the highs will be in the low to middle 60s.

A warmer pattern takes shape starting Monday but becomes more noticeable by Tuesday. Highs Tuesday hit the upper 60s and will top out in the low 70s by the middle of the week.

Please, Stay safe.
