Cooler Friday with early rain, drying out for the weekend ahead

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - The severe weather threat is over, but a few light showers are still possible today. Rain will move from west to east through the morning and early afternoon.

Daytime highs will stay on the cooler side today, only reaching the 50s and low 60s. Expect mostly cloudy skies to start your Friday, with some clearing developing later in the day.

As we head into the overnight hours, lows will dip into the 30s under partly cloudy skies.

We have a quiet weekend ahead.

Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs in the low to mid 60s. We’ll warm up a few more degrees Sunday while holding onto the mild and calm weather pattern.

Meteorological Summer officially begins Monday, June 1st. Unlike the astronomical start of summer, which is based on the summer solstice later in June, meteorologists divide the seasons into three full calendar months to make weather and climate records easier to track.

We’ll kick off the season with warm, summer-like temperatures next week, with highs climbing into the mid 70s and low 80s.
