Two people seriously injured at NW Redmond home; police call it ‘isolated incident,’ seek neighbor videos

(Update: Adding video)

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Two people were seriously injured late Thursday night at a home in northwest Redmond, prompting a callout of the Central Oregon Major Incident Team to investigate what police called “an isolated incident.”

Police responded around 10:34 p.m. to a 911 call from a home in the 1000 block of Northwest Elm Avenue, Lieutenant April Huey said.

"Upon arrival, officers located two people with significant injuries," Huey said in a news release. "The two injured persons were transported by ambulance to St. Charles Redmond."

"The Central Oregon Major Incident Team has been activated and is investigating this as an isolated incident," Huey said. "A significant police presence will remain in the area today. There is no known threat to the community at this time. "

Redmond Police also are asking neighbors in the area to review video surveillance for any vehicles or suspicious activity between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

"If you have any surveillance video for this time period regarding this incident, please contact RPD through non-emergency dispatch by dialing 541-693-6911," Huey added.

The lieutenant said "RPD would like to thank Redmond Fire and Rescue, the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, Bend Police Department, Oregon State Police, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and other MIT partners for responding and assisting with this investigation."

A neighbor said the heavy police presence at a home at Northwest 10th Street and Elm Avenue, near John Tuck Elementary School, began around 11 p.m.

KTVZ News' Isabella Warren arrived to find Elm Avenue closed and much of the neighborhood taped off, from Canyon  Drive to Elm Avenue.

Officers could be seen at midday walking outside wearing masks and gloves and entering a neighboring home.

Other worried neighbors declined to be interviewed but called it a nice neighborhood.

Warren will have reports about what took place Friday evening on KTVZ News. Stay with KTVZ.COM for updates on this breaking story.
