Cloudy and mild today, smoke lingers
Today, with the arrival of cooler air, temperatures will drop into the low 70s and upper 60s. Lows tonight in the 30s and 40s. A cold front passes through this morning which will bring clouds, more mild temperatures, and a breeze with wind gusts 15-20mph. We will remain cloudy tomorrow. Clouds will start to clear Friday but expect party cloudy skies before that full sunshine comes back for the weekend.
Air quality is the big worry today. An Air Quality Advisory was released for Deschutes County and will likely continue into the weekend. Please refer to the banner at the top of our website for the most updated information. The surrounding new and old fires continue to produce a good amount of smoke over our area which will keep many areas “unhealthy.” Be safe.
Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in the Tampa Bay area tonight as a Category 4 hurricane, bringing potentially record-breaking storm surges, incredibly dangerous winds, and serious flooding. This will likely be a historic event. It will be devastating and catastrophic for those on the west-central peninsula of Florida. Check on your loved ones, if you have any in the area. Lack of power following the storm will make communication difficult for many.
Have a great Wednesday, be safe today! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the hidden pumpkin in my forecast this month.
