Rainy & cool Halloween forecast

KTVZ

Temperatures today will be in the 40s but “feel-like” temperatures will be in the 30s so today will feel a bit chilly. Lows tonight in the 30s. You’ll want to bundle up for trick-or-treating tonight!

Our mountains received snow yesterday while Central Oregon saw rain. We will see more snow fall along the mountains and through the passes over the course of the next few days. We’ll likely see around a foot of snow, or more, accumulate as this system makes its way across our region over the next couple days.

A reminder that we have a Winter Storm Warning across for the Cascades until Friday evening due to heavy snowfall and a Winter Weather advisory for west Jefferson and West Deschutes County until the same time due to winter weather making for slick driving conditions.

This morning, snow could fall in higher elevations like La Pine and Sunriver before 10am. As we heat up, snow will turn to a wintry mix and eventually just rain. It will make for a slushy morning. Roads could be slick this morning–patchy ice and any snow that might have stuck last night will be melting. There will be the same slippery situation early Friday morning. Be careful on your morning commute.

Friday morning will be a bit warmer, snow in the high desert is less likely. However, another rainy and cool day is expected.

The low pressure system that’s bringing this winter weather is moving a bit slower than anticipated, which means we’ll see rain linger into the weekend, rather than clear out. We should be drier by the end of the weekend.

Happy Halloween! Today is the last day to find the pumpkin in my forecast. Have fun, be safe.
