A 49-year-old Bend man accused of a serious-injury DUII hit-and-run crash led officers from several agencies on a pursuit Saturday afternoon – eventually on bare tire rims, after hitting spike strips — that ended with his arrest after officers were able to box in his car, Oregon State Police said.

The Bend Park and Recreation District says it has experienced a steep increase in illegal activities and costly vandalism in its restrooms and said it “wants to make the public aware of the issues and efforts to protect health and safety for all.”

Bend police made a guns-drawn arrest Saturday morning of a 24-year-old woman accused of burglarizing a closed jewelry store of about $5,000 worth of items, then walking out the front door to where officers were waiting.

A Bend man allegedly sped down NE Greenwood Avenue the wrong way Wednesday afternoon, rear-ended two pickup trucks, then got out brandishing a knife and ran from the scene, police said. He was spotted running through downtown in his underwear until a police officer tackled him near City Hall.

A man accused of sexually abusing a massage customer at a northeast Bend spa and of practicing massage without a license made his first court appearance Wednesday, and a plea hearing was set for Nov. 22.
